About Tico’s:

“Tico” is just Costa Rican slang for “Costa Rican”—like calling someone a “Yank” or “Kiwi.” Costa Ricans love it ’cause it feels warm, not formal—like family.

Yup—mostly. They don’t sweat traffic or deadlines. But don’t mistake chill for lazy; they hustle hard when it counts.

It literally means “pure life,” but it’s more like “no worries” or “all good.” They say it as hello, goodbye, thanks—basically everything. It’s their vibe: life’s too short for drama.

Not always. They brew it fresh with that old-school “chorreador”—hot water dripping through a cloth sock into a mug. Some go straight black, strong and simple, especially early mornings. But plenty add cream and sugar for that creamy, sweet kick—think café con leche at breakfast or mid-day.
